Vital Principles & Vital Nutritional Guidelines
In this discussion Alicia introduces the 12 Vital Principles and share the recommended Nutritional Guidelines.
Don't worry if some of these principles feel challenging or overwhelming. Try making small changes and these can have a big impact on your health and wellbeing.
To help introduce new habits, you might like to try habit stacking. This means pairing a new habit with an existing one: After/Before (current habit) I will (new habit). For example: "Before I brush my teeth, I will drink my lemon water" or "after I meditate, I will drink my lemon water".
Harmonising through Diet, Lifestyle & Environment
Alicia will share important information on what foods to eat and why. The recommendation of 80/20 alkaline to acid is because it has been found that eating 80% of your diet in the alkaline food groups and 20% in the acid groups is the best way to provide optimal energy and nutrition to the body!
Why We Need to Detox
In this week's discussion, Alicia explains why we need to detox.
You will learn why we ask you to eliminate certain foods during our program and how to make juicing an ongoing healthy habit. Alicia will also discuss hydration and live water as one of the primary sources of good health.
Health Starts in the Digestive System
This week we look at our digestive system and how it affects every system in your body. Naturopathy is based on the belief that your gut and liver health need to be working well for the rest of the body to be in good health. Yet for far too long doctors have dismissed the digestive system as just an organ responsible for breaking down and absorbing our food.
"I have had clients tell me that their doctor has conferred that going to the toilet once a week wasn’t a problem! Fortunately, recent science has confirmed what has always been known that your gut health is imperative for your immune health and your emotional wellbeing". - Alicia
If the digestive system is functioning well then everything else will too!
Integration ~ Salt, Fat & Gut Balance
Alicia will talk about our physiology and good fats, bad fats. This discussion will be an integration of how to maintain healthy gut bacteria (the microbiome), the best way to energise yourselves with correct hydration (Sole Water recipe) and what fats are critical for cell health.
Sugar the Nemesis to Good Health
You are about to understand why refined sugar, in all its guises, is definitely one of the worst foods you can give your body. William Dufty calls it “The Sweetest Poison of All”. Fortunately, you will find that by eating a more balanced diet, the craving for sugar will diminish and, without question, the more you avoid sugar, the easier it is to go without it.
Adrenal Health & Stress
Exposure to acute and chronic stress is an inevitable part of everyday life. So how is it that something so natural can cause such mental and physical ill-health to a large percentage of our population? Some people will respond with positive coping and adaptation abilities whilst others will have impaired and negative symptoms that can eventually lead to anxiety, depression, and chronic exhaustion. How did we get here and what can we address the elephant in the room?
Thyroid, Weight & Breath
Thyroid health is very much associated with adrenal and reproductive hormonal health. We need to see adrenal and thyroid as a horse and cart. They work closely together to maintain balance. If the horse is lame or the cart wheel is broken more emphasis will be placed on the working part of the team and eventually that will have an impact.
Topics of Importance
Good Night & Sweet Dreams
This talk will discuss the Circadian Rhythm, the stages of sleep linked to brain waves, factors that contribute to poor sleep, and then the various treatments recommended primarily related to breath, herbs and supplements.
I hope by the end you will have tools that can not only help you, but you can share them with your friends and family so everyone may reap the benefits of a good night’s sleep.
Traditional Wisdoms & Modern Insights
Join Alicia as we travel back to a simpler time. Where community and daily practiced were a part of life. The old saying that the health of the village is a mirror of the health of the individual is a good one to return to in our modern lives. From fermented foods, to sprouting this discussion will enliven your passion for the ‘good old days’!
Voltage is Healing
We are all deeply connected to each other and this planet, and yet we so often forget! Energy and matter are one and the same, as recognised by Einstein. The Universe is one indivisible, dynamic whole in which energy and matter are so deeply entangled it is impossible to consider them as independent elements. Alicia will take you on a journey into your very being and beyond in this rich and deeply beautiful discussion.
Healing Gardens
We, Alicia and her daughter Indigo, share this recording from a very special location. Sitting together in New Zealand overlooking Alicia’s beautiful garden. Where the magic happens! This discussion is about our herbs (sometimes called weeds!) and the healing power we have access to. Whether its remedies to get you through the cold season, energising tonics, or the ever magical world of teas and their numerous health benefits this is Alicia's passion topic!
